Il vero problema di Adriano Viterbini non è un problema. E’ anzi una qualità rara non sempre facile a trovarsi e che consiste nel sapersi mettere a servizio della musica senza voler/dover strafare suonandosi addosso ed addosso agli altri. Chitarrista e musicista equilibrato sa ben scegliere tra righe e spazi e lascia cadere le note con gusto ed apparente semplicità. Timing, suono, presenza ed attenzione alle dinamiche fanno il resto. I mondi che sa creare arricchiscono l’intuizione artistica sua e degli altri. Eh, si! Un problema. Un problema, però, solo per l’ascoltatore chitarrista che vorrebbe ascoltarlo di più e più a lungo e che per un solo gli darebbe "12" battute in più su cui spaziare. Complimenti. Carmine C5

E' un piacere scambiare due chiacchiere con lui dopo il concerto. Quando e dove suono? Risposta: prossimamente su questi schermi (and you will be welcomed).

Tra le altre cose, mi ha colpito di più: il solo nell'ultimo brano suonato alla Cavea con la chitarra classica.

Uri Caine at "Casa dei Teatri" - Summer night at Villa Pamphilij

Playing and improvising on the Bohemian Rhapsody

Uri Caine, straordinario estro improvvisativo, uno tra i pianisti più eclettici della scena musicale contemporanea, è ospite per la prima volta de I Concerti nel Parco e porta in dono una sua composizione in prima assoluta, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. L'opera gli è stata commissionata dal Festival nell’ambito delle commemorazioni pucciniane del 150° anniversario dalla nascita. Uri Caine, di cui è ben nota la passione per la rilettura di grandi classici in chiave jazz, propone a Villa Pamphilj uno dei suoi concerti a 360° gradi: a partire da standard jazz degli albori da Art Tatum a Monk, passando per i Beatles e vari, arriva, come solo lui sa fare, con ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, all’Otello di Verdi, il Don Giovanni di Mozart e a La Bohéme di Puccini. Dal titolo scelto per il concerto si può forse intuire il ponte misterioso che lega l’universo della lirica a quello jazz: in entrambe queste dimensioni sonore l’ascoltare percepisce - in particolari momenti di grazia - coinvolto non solo l’udito, ma misteriosamente tutti e cinque i sensi... Uri Caine su 'Bohemian Raphsody': "Ho scelto la rapsodia perché una rapsodia implica una improvvisazione basata su alcuni dei famosi temi de La Boheme. Esattamente come altri compositori hanno scritto parafrasi e arrangiamenti per pianoforte solo, basati su temi da opere liriche, sto provando a fare lo stesso con La Bohéme. La musica di Puccini è piena di passione e bellezza ed io l’ho amata ed ammirata per lungo tempo."

Tradition in the cafés of Naples is/was to order a caffè sospeso – literally, a coffee "in suspense". When a sospeso is ordered, the customer pays for two coffees, but only receives one. That way, when a person who is homeless or otherwise down on their luck walks into the café, the person can ask if there are any coffees held in suspense, and can have one as a courtesy of the first customer. Though the custom has been a part of Neapolitan society for many years, it is somewhat less common today. Ai primi del’900, a Napoli c’era un’abitudine consolidata soprattutto tra la gente del popolo. Chi andava al bar per un caffè ne pagava due ed alla cassa diceva: “uno sospeso!”. Il sospeso era per chi non avveva soldi. Così, prima di sera, qualcuno meno fortunato nella vita, passava e chiedeva: “C’è un sospeso per me?” avvicinandosi al bancone. E se arrivava tardi ed I sospeso aveva già trovato un altro clliente ci pensava il proprietario del bar … ma non glielo faceva capire. Un’usanza tutta partenopea che sareppe profondamente sbaglliato confondere con un’elemosina. Era, al contrario, un atto di condivisione di problemi, comunicazione e comprensione.

Just saw this movie. It is a simple story that makes you tenederly smile. A drop of poetry and music. Then, if you lived in Dublin, it will remind you that "light" of Ireland, Grafton Street and his musicians, S. Stephen Green and the beautiful seaside, your path that passed by that welcoming country and his people and your friends and sun and rain in just one day.
